Deep stash busted for some pillow covers -

Plant dyeing

I´m sewing less as I screwed a neckline which needs to be ripped (FOE so double work) and until that´s done I´m not starting anything new.
Instead I was experimenting with plant dying a bit (also to pamper my little soul after the failure on that neckline).
So I used untreated wool yarn and this was the result -

Dyestuff from left - tea, tea 2nd dip, ivy leaves, Japanese indigo and mahonia berries

The Japanese indigo leaves require no mordant and can be applied cold which makes it great. I loved using it - too bad I only had enough for one skein of merino yarn.

The rest was with 14% cold alum mordant

Last Makes of 2017

For the record - no special technique or fabric used. They are heavily in use so it took some time until I got the chance to shoot pics.
Dress for Young Lady size 104 , pattern Ottobre 4/2014 Banana Sweet. Nicki+leftover jersey for lining and cuffs.

Shawl of natural alpaka, used about 400grams. Pattern from Verena 2/2011 Morelia.

Knitting - Machine Knitting

Machine knitting on - I have bought 2 (actually 3) machines on Ebay. They are all vintage, at least 40-50ys old but still functioning.
This loop I made with the Toyota K510 - still need some practice with it and the issue is always that the ends tend to curl up. To fix it I crocheted ruffles all across (took 10x longer than knitting)
I´m pretty satisfied with the outcome.

Gépi kötés on - vettem az Ebayen kötőgépeket, ez a darab a Toyota K510-essel készült. A kötés maga nem tartott sokáig, de sajnos az eredmény erősen hajlamos pöndörödni, úgyhogy kénytelen voltam körbehorgolni. Na, ez kb. 10x annyi ideig tartott mint maga a kötés. Azért jó lett, még van mit tanulni, de kezdésnek nem rossz.

October Tally Up

Other things are taking most of my time these days so it took a month to be able to write this post. In a nutshell - 5.5m-s out, none in. Most of the stashbust is due to charity, only one top done for myself. I also finished a stole using super thin yarn with a very simple pattern which gives a nice wavy edge without further magic.

Here´s the pattern -

1. cast on even number of stitches

2.knit all stitches

3. purl all stitches

4. (k2tog)4x; (yo, k1)8x; (k2tog)4x; repeat to end

5. purl

6. repeat rows 2-5 until running out of yarn :)

Burda 10/2012

Mostanában más dolgokkal foglalkozom, így egy hónapig tartott az októberi összesítő. 5.5m összesen, ebből 4m ment jótékonykodásra. Csak egy felső készült nekem, meg egy sál, cérnavékony gyapjúból, szép hullámos széllel amit nem kell blokkolni :)
