Carneval Season

Little Lady had no choice, she will be a bee. I bought the fabric 3ys ago when my son was born and planned to make it for him. Husband protested (a bee is not boyish enough) so it didn´t happen. Now that we also have a daughter I could use the fabric as originally planned combined with some leftover black jersey. It´s really nothing special, the wings are from mesh fabric. I cut 4 triangles and just gathered on the longest side. It had to big enough to put over a coverall as it´s cold outside and we do go outside for Carneval.

Junior decided for a dino costume so he got one. It´s also a big one so he can dress underneath but also good for the day when they dress up in kindergarten as I gathered the sleeve and leg hems.

While doing these I realized how much I love sewing costumes. It´s a lot of fun without the hassle of fitting. Busted 0.5m as the fabric for the dino dress needed to be bought this month.

Kisasszonynak még nincs saját akarata a ruháit illetően így kapott egy méhecske jelmezt, amit még Juniornak akartam 3 éve de Apa bojkottálta mondván nem elég fiús. A szárnyak tüllből vannak, illetve az ujjak fekete maradék jersey-ből mivel a csíkos nem volt elég magában. Semmi extra, de elég nagy hogy alá lehessen öltözni (errefelé a Farsang kinti tevékenység).

Junior dino jelmezt kért (féltem erősen hogy megint tűzoltó ruhát kell varrnom), kapott is. Ez is elég nagy aláöltözni, de arra is jó lesz amikor az oviban van beöltözős nap. Az ujját meg a lábszárát gumiztam, hogy nem legyen hosszú mikor nincs alatta vastag nadrág meg harisnya.

Nagyon-nagyon szerettem ezeket varrni, jó móka volt. Elment 0.5m készlet, a többit meg kellett venni de legalább csak a pirosból maradt egy kicsi :)

February Challenge #1

Something red for a cool prize.

How about a carneval costume? How about a firefighter costume? How about cool reflecting stripes and an embroidery? How about using some nice red cotton fabric? I only had to buy the reflecting stripes, all the rest was stash including the zipper and some leftover bias binding for the neck. I already used both of the patterns  (pants here, jacket here.) This time I skipped the hood and the lining for the jacket.

A februári téma nyereményért megy (van több is), valami piros legyen, mondták. Mi lenne ha jelmez lenne? Mi lenne ha tűzoltó jelmez lenne? Piros anyagból, fényvisszaverő csíkokkal meg minden. Ebben a legjobb az hogy csak a csíkokat kellett külön megvenni, a többi (a cipzár és a maradék ferdepánt a kabát nyakán is) készlet volt. Junior szereti, és ráfér a normál ruhájára, ami külön jó, mert errefelé a Farsang kinti tevékenység.

Carneval Outfit/Jelmezbál

Kiddo's first Carneval party is on Saturday. Originally we didn't plan to go this particular one and I planned to do a dwarf outfit for him with green pants, red cape and a little hat. My husband sabotaged my idea and wanted a polar bear outfit (my second choice originally).
Having the party to soon I had no choice left but to make something fast. Polar bear outfit for Kiddo based on a lion pattern modified to actually look like a polar bear from stash fabric -

Junior első jelmezbálja most szombaton lesz. Eredetileg nem erre akartunk menni, de így alakult. Eredetileg erdei manó jelmezt terveztem neki zöld nadrággal, piros köpennyel meg manósapkával, de Apa inkább jegesmacit akart (eredetileg ez volt az én második opcióm). Mivel a bál ilyen hamar lesz nem maradt sok választás, gyorsan kellett varrni. Elkészült életem első jelmeze, eredetileg egy oroszlán szabásmintából alakítva. Az majd holnap derül ki, hogy elviseli-e a gyermek.
