Kids Apron 2-4ys Free Pattern

Junior had one so I had to self-draft one for Little Lady too. The first version is pretty simple and will be followed by a second one made of some nicer fabric.

Sizes are shown on the pic (fits 2-4ys, for older kids the length needs to be increased only).

The cool thing about it that it can be adjusted by pulling the straps on the side and no need to make head measurements.

The tubes to guide the strap is made using a 5cm wide bias tape (mine was 33cm, but it really depends on the curve) attached to the raw side of the curve. The strap is 170cm long (1-piece).

Varrok de nem blogolok, mert sajnos mostanság csak az egyikre van időm. A varrás szokott nyerni. Kisasszony kapott sok ruhát mert lassan itt az ideje hogy elkezdjen lányosan öltözni (eddig többnyire Juniortól örökölt cuccai voltak). Itt van pár dolog az elmúlt 3 hónapból. Amint lesz időm fotózni a többit azok is felkerülnek.

Warm and Fuzzy

Bathrobe, cotton frottier, heavy-heavy weight (500+ gr/sqm). Extremely fuzzy. Had to clean again a lot when it was complete. Junior has a cool bathrobe now with cool details like dark brown and white bias binding and a T-Rex on the back. 

Well, honestly, the belt is binded as I couldn´t turn it inside out when I sewed one side so I had to find another way to clean the edges.

Also I realized 2 things while sewing - fabric shrunk like hell after washing and frottier has a direction. Luckily I bought 2.5m-s. What´s left is good enough for about 5pcs of washing gloves.

Nagyon vastag frottírból lett Juniornak fürdőköpenye (500+gr/nm). Nem keveset takarítottam míg el nem készült, mert szöszölt nagyon, de tetszik neki. Van rajta egy csomó király részlet, pl a ferdepántozott szélek, zsebek meg öv, meg T-Rex a hátán. Najó, az öv azért lett ilyen, mert nem bírtam kifordítani miután megvarrtam a csövet viszont kellett megoldás hogy mégis legyen neki saját anyagából öve... 

Arra is rájöttem varrás közben- 

1. az anyag durván összement a mosásban, még szerencse hogy 2.5m-t vettem. A maradék elég kb. 5 mosdókesztyűre

2. a frottírnak is van száliránya, mint a kordnak.

On Theme for February

Well, partially. Scraps are to be busted this month but I did a jacket for Junior for spring. He doesn´t like it yet but time will come.

Young Lady got 2 leggings, a dress and a hoodie, all from scraps of fabric.

I have another pair of pants cut and halfway constructed for Junior so I´m pretty awesome for this month.

Maybe I´ll squeeze in a t-shirt or 2 for myself as well.

Majdnem témánál vagyok a hónapra, elvileg maradékoktól kell szabadulni. A kabát Juniornak készült, egyenlőre nem tetszik neki, de ha jön a tavasz fel fogja venni (főleg ha megláttja hogy az egyik garbómon ugyanez a farkas van). Pamut jersey béléssel készült, a külső vízlepergetős, a zsebein meg fényvisszaverő csíkok vannak. Kisasszony kapott 2 leggingset (Burda), egy ruhát (Burda) meg egy kapucnist (Ottobre). Na, ezek már teljesen maradékokból készültek. Királylány vagyok erre a hónapra :) Még a végén kiszorítok az időből 1-2 pólót magamnak is.

UFO Complete

I started this one for Junior early in July but managed to complete only a few days ago. I hated doing it, the outer fabric is wind and waterproof but allows no room for mistakes - every stitch is visible once screwed. Also the fleece I had for the lining was a bit too bulky so I had to experiment a lot with settings not to have a bunch of skipped stitches. Stashbust of 1.7m fabric. Pattern from Ottobre 1/2013. I added some machine embroidered detail on the back. I already used this pattern with some changes but this time I haven´t made any alterations.

Final result - Junior loves it (he had to try it on although it was 30+C), husband hates the colors and the outer fabric. Anyway, in this constellation his opinion doesn´t really count. :)

Ezt a kabátot még július elején kedztem de a Luca széke ehhez képest fénysebességgel készült. Nem szerettem, a külső anyag víz-, és szélálló ugyan, de minden öltés meglátszik rajta, így nagyon kellett vigyáznom, hogy ne kelljen fejteni. A bélés polár egy kicsit vastag, nehezen is ment a két réteg együtt, de sokat segített a teflon talpam. Sokat kellett az elején játszani az öltéshossz/tű/cérna kombóval is, hogy ne legyenek kihagyott öltések. Összesen 1.7m anyag ment rá, a minta Ottobre 1/2013 (már készült egy kisebb méret némi módosítással).
Junior imádja, apukája utálja a külső anyagot és a színeket, de szerencsére az ő véleménye most marhára nem számít :)

First Makes of July

Pants for Junior from Ottobre 1/2013 and a cowl necked top top for me. I left off the rib trim of the top which made the thing very easy and fast to sew.

A júliusi első darabok - nadrág Juniornak (Ottobre 1/2013), ebből már 2 másikat is varrtam kisebb méretekben és nagyon bejött, illetve egy felső nekem.

More March Stashbusting

The ultimate stashbusting project - found some leftover checked cotton fabric which was enough for nothing. Originally it was in my fabric leftover box. Played around with the pattern layout and managed to get this summer shortall for Junior. The matching is not 100% perfect but I´m ok with it as I was very limited with the fabric. Pattern is from Ottobre 3/2013.

Ez teljesen készletből varrt kantáros rövidnadrág lett. Az anyag eredetileg a maradékos ládámban hevert már jó ideje (legalább 4 éve, még azelőtt szereztem mielőtt Németországba költöztem) - nem véletlen, mert nekem semmire sem volt elég. Elég sokat kellett trükközni a szabással hogy Juniornak kijöjjön belőle egy a nadrág, de elégedett vagyok vele. Minta Ottobre 3/2013-ból való. A süni vasalós minta, a zsebek is maradékból készültek.

PJ Eater

Sewing plushies is not my favorite activity. I try from time to time to see if this changes but so far it´s the same. Thought it will be a good idea to make a PJ Eater Dino for Junior. The pattern was from a book -Das große SINGER Nähbuch - Stofftiere - I followed the instructions and made a dino with monster arms. Maybe my printer is not doing enlarging properly but somehow it turned out to be unproportional. I had to laugh for minutes when I saw it ready it looked so stupid. Junior likes it luckily so it won´t end in the charity bag.

Játszótársakat nem szeretek varrni, pedig időnként mindig megpróbálom. Azt hittem majd milyen jó ötlet lesz Juniornak egy pizsievőt varrni. A minta könyvből van  Das große SINGER Nähbuch - Stofftiere. Én követtem a leírást, de vagy a nyomtatóm nem nagyít rendesen vagy a minta nem teljesen pontos. lényeg a dinónak szörnykarjai letter. Juniornak tetszik, úgyhogy nem landol a jótékonysági nyomagban.

More Stash Busted - February Balance

I did 2 more pants for Junior using the same old pattern ((last time used here). The dark blue is for the season, the striped one is more maritim themed. The dark blue lower part was my idea to use up some small scraps I have. 

My February balance is 3.4m stash busted and no new purchases.

Még két nadrágot varrtam Juniornak februárban, (mintát itt használtam legutóbb) A sötét inkább mostanra jó, a csíkos pedig egyértelműen nyári. A kék hajtóka az én ötletem volt, jól lehet vele kisebb darab maradékoktól szabadulni.

A februári mérleg 3.4m -rel kevesebb anyag és nem vettem semmit.

January Balance

Managed to complete 2 more items this month - a blue towel and a sweatshirt. Both for Junior of course. The blue towel is made of a surprise package fabric. It was really a stripe that I cut in the middle and sewed it together to make a normal towel size. The whale is machine embroidered.

T-shirt is Ottobre 1/2013 pattern. I left off the cuffs and added a little tiger in the middle.

Total usage of January fabric with the maternity top is only 2.3m.

NO NEW PURCHASES! I also cancelled by Ottobre subscription for this year as I have enough kids stuff for now and being pregnant I´m very limited in stuff I can make for myself.

Ebben a hónapban sikerült még egy törölközőt meg egy pólót összehozni. Előbbi anyag egy meglepi csomagban volt, egy hosszú csík amit kettévágtam és a hosszanti oldalán összevarrtam. Kapott egy géppel hímzett bálnát is.

A póló 1/2013 Ottobre minta, elhagytam a mandzsettát és kapott egy tigrist hogy ne legyen unalmas.

Összesen 2.3m anyag ment el januárban a múltori pólóval együtt. NEM VETTEM SEMMI ÚJAT. (Hurrá). Sőt, az Ottobre előfizetésemet is lemondtam erre az évre, mert gyerek minta most van elég, magamnak meg nem nagyon fogok idén varrni.

X-Mas and Stuff

I haven´t been blogging for a while and it had its reason. At the end of the day I was just too tired to. Not a complaint, it´s simply how it is in the 1st 12 weeks :)
Prepared some stuff for a charity X-Mas market and made a sweatshirt for Junior which he loves. Other than these I haven´t switched my sewing machines on. Not for a second.
First trimester ends 31-Dec and I´m hoping my power returns. So, my blogging friends, until then have a wonderful X-Mas and a very happy new year.

Sokat pihen a varrógép (az összes) mostanában, be sem lettek kapcsolva az utolsó 4 hétben. Estére annyira elfáradtam hogy csak bedőltem az ágyba majdnem Juniorral egyidőben. Nem panaszképp mondom, ez már csak így van az első trimeszter végéig. Készült azért pár dolog a karácsonyi céges jótékonysági vásárra, meg egy pingvines pulcsi Juniornak.
Az első trimeszte hivatalosan véget ér dec. 31-én, amikor elvileg visszatér belém az Erő. Addig is kedves blogoló barátaim, kellemes ünnepeket kívánok!

Stitchin´

Yes, I do stitch a lot with my new machine - should be more diligent taking pictures. This one was more of trial - to see how it works if I stitch a patch. Well, it does work pretty well. I just need to cut nicely on the edges so it doesn´t fray. T-shirt itself is the simplest you can make.

And also completed another pair of pants for Junior based on the same pattern as last time. Except I left off the elastic at the bottom. The fabric is recycled, it used to be a skirt of mine which I never liked but was good to make.

Sokat hímzek ám a gépemmel, csak fotózni nem marad időm. Ez a sárga az első próbálkozás volt rávarróst készíteni - egész jó lett, nagyon pontosan kell körbevágni és akkor nem rojtozódik a széle. A póló maga semmi extra.

Készült még egy nadrág ugyanaz majdnem mint a múltkori csak elhagytam az alján a gumit. A maci készen vett minta, Juniror nagyon megszerette. A kép kicsit ferde mert oldalról fotóztam, de szimmetrikus lett. Az anyag egy régi szoknyámból lett, ami jó volt varrni de hordani már nem szerettem.
