Beastie Beauty Pfaff Coverlock 4.0 /Szépséges Szörnyeteg Pfaff Coverlock 4.0

I was always longing for a coverlock but always found it too expensive. This year got some bonus and selfishly decided to use it all for a new machine. I knew I wanted Pfaff as I had the same brand for an overlock and was very satisfied with it. Cool, I managed to choose one of the most expensive brands.

When it arrived I had no time to try it for multiple days so I kept staring at it on the living room table every time I passed.

The initial experience - if you have never had an overlock before, forget it. You'll stare and sweat and cry and curse when trying to thread. Although it has a great threading guide on CD someone with no clue how to do it will probably fail too many times to keep enthusiasm alive. The instruction manual is also written for people already having experience with at least overlocks.
Otherwise it's a great machine, stitches are perfect and it does has an automatic thread tension adjustment.
What I also found very helpful was the fact they shipped it threaded to a 4-thread overlock stitch.
Changing from overlock to coverlock function takes only a few snaps. I like the digital display with all the things needed for the selected stitch and the fact it keeps the last stitch in memory so even without adding it to the favorite list (yes, you can also do this) you don't need to do all the settings again and again.
Pricewise it was expensive but it has a reason. Among the 25 stitches there are multiple coverstitches, 2-3-4-5 thread options. You get a digital display, extra table, threading guide.
Generally I am satisfied after the initial 'I screwed again at one step' type of sighs.

One of my old overlocks is for sale, Huskylock 460ED. Old type, but works ok. Lower/upper knives knew, German/Italian instruction manual available. Drop an email for a price.

At the same time one of my old overlocks is for sale, Huskylock 460ED. Old type, but works ok. Lower/upper knives knew, German/Italian instruction manual available. It has a differential feed. Drop an email for a price.
